I think the whole lake is shot
« on: July 11, 2012, 03:51:51 PM »
Thank God I am pulling out Sunday to go to Lake MI.  Maybe when I get back it won't be so bad.

This image is from 1pm today.

Its a great area on a windy day expecially if you don't want to fight the crouds.  The more popular areas are also fun if you like to people watch.  You never know what you will see at areas like the weedbeds :o

I am glad the big strom went just to the north of us.  It could have gotten nasty!!!

Well, when we got to Lake MI and we did not cross due to the weather.  Man what a week of weather! I am not complaining we need the rain even if the wind and unpredictably stopped us from crossing.  We started in Sheboygan with the intent to cross to Grand Haven MI.  After a few days in Sheboygan we decided it was too hot and the weather was too unpredictable, so we prepared the boat for transfer and went to Door county by trailer.  Because we did not get to burn all that cash, I mean gas going across the lake we decided to just keep the boat here for a month.  We decided to stay at Centrepointe Marina after some fun on the peninsula and will enjoy the bay and the big lake for a few more weekends.  To see the details of our trip check out our blog....www.alwaysstarboard.com

Oh, and I got to see the most interesting vessel I have seen to date.  The Antares.  This was a 2008 Westport 130 yacht, Hull number 1525,   130' OAL, 26' beam. This was a monster and held 9,901 Gal of Diesel for the two engines that put out over 2700hp! Cruised at 24 knots or MPH could not find the measurement where it was listed either way that is fast for that boat!

That sucks that the weather wasn't your friend to cross..  Sheboygan has an awesome facilty though. I actually was one of the 1st persons to of worked and helped start up that marina back in the summer of 1994. Was the best job I have ever had.  Now go find Matt at the Rum Runner at Centerpointe and make sure you go drink all his Bacardi 8) 8)
